Leeds v Aston Villa, yesterday.
Villa player goes down injured under a challenge, Leeds play on, player slows down as if hes about to kick the ball out, but suddenly carries on. Passes down the line, player scores
Cue outrage.
Where do you stand on this?
Players are told to play to the whistle. If the referee thought there was a major problem he'd have blown to stop the game. It wasnt Leeds fault that the Villa players stopped, and even then there were 2/3 Villa defenders back to prevent the goal.

Nigel Reo-Coker dummied Sol Campbell and put him on his arse on the way to our scoring a goal.
I celebrated at the time. Presumably though, you thought that PRETENDING to go one way to lead everyone down that path then at the last minute changing his mind was 'a cunt's move', and as soon as we scored from it we should have let Arsenal walk it into the net to level it up?

There's a referee on the pitch. Let them decide when a game needs stopping.
If I was a manager I would fine any player who puts the ball out of play for the opposition, or gives the ball back to the team kicking the ball out.

Should always place to the whistle and if they did this wouldn’t of happened.
However it did look like the Leeds player was going to kick it out then carried on, quite funny really.

The offence of unsporting behaviour is in the laws.
The ref should have stopped play for that.
(I think it used to be called ungentlemanly conduct, but I supposed Leeds complained about a rule specifically aimed at them...)

People seem to be completely missing the point with this particular incident.
I'm not in favour of kicking it out no matter what, but not every situation is exactly the same. Villa had done the decent thing minutes before, Leeds clearly should've returned the favour, the lad STUCK HIS ARM IN THE FUCKING AIR to suggest he was just about to put it out, and the rat cunt then played the ball forward when everyone else had naturally stopped.
It's really not hard to see it for what it is in this particular incident, the manager did, hence he gave them a goal back.

If it’s a head injury OR an obviously serious injury.
I have noticed a couple of games where our players have gone down with a head injury and the game hasn’t been stopped but that is supposed to be the ruling.
This was changed as some teams do feign injury when they lose the ball and try and stop a break by forcing the other team to stop the game.
At the moment many teams play on when someone is down and then get all upset when the other team does the same.
It annoys me when someone takes a knock and then lay on the ground not moving.
If the game is going on get up. And if your leg is broken then fall down again.

I agree whole heartedly that it is up to the referee to stop the game and my understanding is that they will only do so if it is a suspected head injury. I always think you should play on, in Kodja's case he was genuinely injured but in so many cases the player goes down but is back running onto the pitch seconds later.
HOWEVER absolute credit to the Leeds manager for ordering his team to stand back and let Villa score, I thought it looked like the intention of most of the Leeds players was to stop and Villa clearly thought that too. Had Leeds made it very clear they were not stopping then that is a totally different story.

I didnt say it was exactly the same as bartez? But its the same ball park. Both players have tried to gain an advantage by trying something.
If the players played to the whistle then there wouldnt have been an issue.

Kodjia went off injured, and Villa played for a couple of minutes with nine men, as their sub wasn't ready.
Given that, it seems unlikely he went off for show, just to "prove" he'd really taken knock.

The rules are clear, it's up to the ref to stop play. The footballers are just a bunch of egotistical, cheating cunts, who feign injury just to gain some advantage.
I was pissed off when Paolo grabbed that ball, it was just for show, he didn't really give a fuck about the injured Everton player!
This stupid playing the ball out, cost us a fucking FA cup. Why do they stop for cramp, it's not an injury ffs?

Im personally fed up with all of this playing the ball out if a player goes down injured as 99 out of 100 they are not seriously injured and do not need immediate attention. There are more than enough natural breaks in the game for an injured players to be treated.
1. Play to the whistle and only stop if the ref blows.
2. If a team puts the ball out for a team mate then don't expect the opposition to throw possession back to them.
Im amazed that something like this hasn't happened before now.

Sorry, I don't particularly want to prolong this. But is not feigning serious injury also "cheating"?
Not sure what Villa expected? No whistle. Game still on. And when they concede, they start physically attacking the opposition.
